Enhanced department features for Switch

Switch provides many features to keep your business running from anywhere. From easy call transfers, to auto-receptionists and department lines, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the business features people need, and getting rid of the complicated PBX features they don’t. Today, we’re excited to bring you enhanced (and much requested) department features.

Caller ID from a Department

You can now call a contact from a department line for a more professional experience. For example, if your support team wants to follow up with a customer, that customer will see your company’s support number ringing their phone rather than the operator’s direct Switch number.

To make sure you call out through your department, select a contact from the Department tab and call them from the contact window.

 

Department Do Not Disturb

If you are an operator for a department, you can now set all incoming calls to that department to Do Not Disturb mode. Stepping out for lunch? Set your department on Do Not Disturb, and all calls will ring the other operators for that department.

Transfer to a department 

We've added the ability to transfer calls to a specific department. If your Sales team receives a call that really should be handled by the Support team, just click the transfer button during your call and enter the name of the department you'd like to transfer it to.
